Americans Found Guilty of Murdering Canadian Hotelier and Partner in Dominica

A nine-member jury in Dominica has found two American men, Jonathan Lehrer and Robert Snider Jr, guilty of the murders of Canadian businessman Daniel Langlois and his longtime partner, Dominique Marchand. The couple's charred bodies were discovered inside a burned-out vehicle on December 1, 2023, after they had been reported missing.

Lehrer, 58, and Snider Jr, 63, were convicted after several hours of deliberation on Tuesday. Prosecutors presented evidence suggesting the murders occurred between November 29 and December 2, 2023. Langlois was the owner and founder of Echo Resort and the software company Softimage, while Marchand was 58 years old.

The investigation revealed a potential motive stemming from a long-running legal dispute between Lehrer and Langlois concerning access rights to a public road that crosses the Bois Cotlette property. This dispute appears to have escalated into the fatal confrontation.

The discovery of the couple's bodies in the vehicle near Gallion in southern Dominica marked the tragic end to their disappearance. The conviction of Lehrer and Snider Jr brings a measure of closure to the case, though the details of the legal dispute and the events leading to the murders remain central to the proceedings.
