Américo Villarreal highlights youth as key to Mexico; Tamaulipas drives technological training

Tamaulipas Governor Américo Villarreal sees the state's youth as a critical asset for Mexico's future, particularly in developing the human capital needed to compete in strategic sectors and reduce technological dependence. He asserted that fostering scientific, technological, and professional training for new generations enhances Tamaulipas' competitiveness and supports national projects.

Speaking during his radio and television program "Diálogos con Américo," ahead of International Youth Day, Villarreal described Tamaulipas as a state with a generation of young people who are proactive, entrepreneurial, and contribute to the state's development with a humanist vision. He noted that Tamaulipas has adopted a new Youth Law, recognizing the active role young people play in proposing ideas, organizing, and participating in decision-making.

Then it is very important, youth is now a fundamental part in the consideration of the development and growth of intangible capital that a nation can have, so that with that strength nations can continue to participate within the framework of competitiveness and development that is happening in the globalized world.

The governor emphasized that youth are fundamental to a nation's intangible capital, enabling countries to thrive in a globalized world. He pointed out that over a million people in Tamaulipas are young, with 50% of the state's inhabitants under 30. This demographic bonus, he believes, offers a significant opportunity to drive state development and contribute to national growth, aligning with President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo's national youth policy.
