Baja California: Burgueño ready for coalition if Morena decides

Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, who is on leave from his position as mayor of Tijuana, has indicated his willingness to participate in a coalition if the Morena party opts for one in the upcoming Baja California gubernatorial election. Burgueño stressed the importance of maintaining "discipline" as the party navigates the path toward the 2027 electoral process. He stated that if the movement decides to form a coalition in the state, "we will go in coalition, but we are waiting for the directions."

Burgueño highlighted his positive relationships with members of various political factions. He recalled that during his time governing Tijuana, he encouraged city council members from all parties to prioritize decisions that strengthen the "collective" rather than a "party project." Burgueño, who is reportedly leading in Morena's internal process for the candidacy, emphasized that he has never engaged in confrontational politics. He believes that maintaining respect and avoiding disputes fosters stability, tranquility, and peace, both in government and within political parties.
