Anambra First Lady, Fidelity Bank empower 2,000 women and children

Anambra State First Lady, Dr. Nonye Soludo, in partnership with Fidelity Bank Plc, has launched an empowerment program benefiting over 2,000 women and children. The initiative, named the 'Fidelity Bank/Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Empowerment Programme,' aims to foster sustainable development, enhance livelihoods, and promote economic independence.

We gather today, not merely to distribute items or celebrate another social impact initiative, but to reaffirm a simple truth, when we invest in people, we invest in the future.

During the event held in Awka, beneficiaries received essential equipment and working materials. Women were provided with sewing machines and grinding machines, while children received solar-powered school bags designed to support their education. Dr. Soludo emphasized that each empowered individual represents a step towards a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous community, highlighting the program's focus on economic inclusion.

Today, through the ‘Give Her Power Initiative’, 100 women will receive sewing machines, while another 100 women will receive grinding machines to strengthen their livelihoods and economic independence.

The 'Give Her Power Initiative' will provide sewing machines to 100 women and grinding machines to another 100, directly supporting their economic activities. The 'Lighting Young Minds Initiative' will equip 250 schoolchildren with solar-powered bags. Additionally, 1,500 individuals will receive 'Food Bank Packs,' bringing the total number of direct beneficiaries to 1,950. Soludo mentioned that her NGO does not receive government funding, relying on goodwill and strategic collaborations to sustain its work.
