Anambra Patriots endorse two aspirants for State Assembly

Anambra Patriots, a dedicated support group for Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has officially thrown its weight behind two of its own members vying for seats in the Anambra State House of Assembly. Obiora Okafor and Onyedika Egbutu have been selected to represent Awka South Constituency I and II, respectively, in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. This endorsement, stemming from motions moved and supported by members within their constituencies, highlights the group's strategic focus on consolidating political support and ensuring the emergence of aligned representatives.

Anambra Patriots was established in 2024 as a support group for Governor Soludo. After successfully contributing to the governor’s re-election, we are now expanding our focus to champion the emergence of capable and credible individuals into the State House of Assembly.

Speaking at the group's recent meeting in Awka, Chairman Chief Ejiamatu Enekwechi underscored the rationale behind the endorsements: competence and experience. He articulated that Anambra Patriots, established in 2024, is committed to nurturing capable professionals who will bolster Governor Soludo's administration. The group's mission extends beyond mere political backing; it aims to foster legislative excellence and collaboration to ensure the delivery of quality governance within the state. This proactive approach to candidate selection signals a long-term vision for political stability and effective governance in Anambra.

This assertion stems from their extensive reach, reportedly spanning all 326 wards across the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State, with a membership exceeding 10,000 individuals. Their motto, 'accountability and good governance,' serves as a strict criterion for membership, with any deviation leading to expulsion. We are here today to endorse our own. They have been our members since 2024, and we have it in our characters to support our own. So there is no way we can support another person because the essence of joining a group is to be there for the group and the group in return be there for you.
