Andrea Legarreta admits age gap almost prevented romance with Luis Carlos Origel

Mexican television host Andrea Legarreta has found new love with Luis Carlos Origel, a man 20 years her junior. The romance blossomed after her separation from Erik Rubín, her husband of 23 years with whom she shares two daughters, Mía and Nina.

Legarreta and Origel's paths first crossed years ago in a shopping mall. Their connection grew when Origel joined a gym business co-owned by Legarreta and Rubín. He became friends with both, but their relationship took a romantic turn after Legarreta became single. She recalled joking with Origel about his younger age, telling him he had all the qualities she desired but was "too young."

The spark ignited further when Origel helped Legarreta with her dress at a wedding, causing her to feel a special connection. They shared their first kiss by a campfire with the Tepozteco mountain as a witness. Since then, they have been inseparable, discussing exclusivity and officially becoming a couple.

Legarreta confessed in a podcast that she doesn't dwell on the age difference, stating, "What will happen next? What about the age difference? I don't know, I'm not thinking about it anymore." She also reflected on her past marriage, noting that her relationship with Rubín should have ended sooner but they fought for it. She informed Rubín of her new romance in October 2025, as per a promise they made. Both daughters, Mía and Nina, were the first to know, and the family is now content and at peace with this new phase, with both Legarreta and Rubín having found new partners.
