"Angry Birds 3" drops first trailer, Red faces parenting challenges

Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for "Angry Birds 3," the latest animated installment in the popular franchise, scheduled for a December 23, 2026 release. The film will explore a new chapter for Red, who must now juggle his role as a hero with the responsibilities of fatherhood. The story introduces Red's children, Junio, Planeador, and Oli, who will play significant roles in the upcoming adventure.

The trailer indicates that the third movie will blend the series' signature humor with a family-centric narrative. Red discovers that raising his children can be even more demanding than saving Bird Island. He is joined once again by Chuck and Bomb in an adventure filled with chaotic situations and comedic moments. Notably, the trailer does not feature a major antagonist, suggesting Red's primary struggle will be adapting to his new life as a father.

Directed by John Rice, with a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman, the film sees Paramount Pictures taking over distribution from Sony Pictures. The cast includes returning English voice actors such as Jason Sudeikis as Red, Josh Gad as Chuck, and Danny McBride as Bomb, alongside Rachel Bloom as Silver, Emma Myers as Junio, Walker Scobell as Planeador, Keke Palmer, and Lily James.
