Mexico City Halts Work and Classes for National Soccer Match

Mexico City will pause in-person classes and federal public administration work on Tuesday, June 30, so residents can watch the national soccer team's match against Ecuador. President Claudia Sheinbaum announced the decree, which was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, stating the aim is to guarantee mobility and road safety in the capital.

During her morning press conference, Sheinbaum explained that the decree allows federal public servants to work remotely. She also encouraged parents to let their children stay up late to support the national team. The president expressed her well wishes for the Mexican team ahead of the crucial match.
