Animal Shelter Invites Public for a Day of Education and Fun with Pets

The "SOS gyvūnai" animal shelter is inviting the public to a special event on the first Sunday of summer, offering a meaningful way to spend the day for animal enthusiasts. Located at Eglinės g. 17, Keidžiuose, the event begins at 12:00 PM and promises a memorable experience for all attendees, whether they are dog or cat owners, or simply animal lovers.

The day's program is packed with activities designed to engage both humans and their pets. Highlights include dog agility demonstrations, training sessions, and a chance to teach pets new tricks. Attendees can also enjoy film screenings in the company of cats. For those looking to pamper their pets, nail trimming and grooming services will be available, with advice provided on how to maintain their pet's appearance at home.

A unique offering at the event is a caricature artist who will capture memorable moments of pets and their owners. A "wheel of fortune" will also provide a chance to test one's luck. Furthermore, the "Purina ONE" academy will be present throughout the event, with specialists offering free consultations on pet nutrition and providing personalized gifts for pets.

The shelter currently cares for nearly 150 animals, supported by nine staff members. The event welcomes not only current pet owners but also those considering adoption. It offers an opportunity to interact with the shelter's residents, walk them, or simply observe their daily lives, potentially leading to life-changing adoptions. Nadežda Makuševa, head of "SOS gyvūnai," emphasized the crucial role of public support and partnerships with businesses in sustaining the shelter's mission.

Long-term supporters like "Purina" have contributed significantly over the years, providing substantial amounts of quality food and assisting with the creation of facilities such as a cat house and dog play areas. These collaborations are vital for the shelter's continued operation and send an important message to the community about caring for abandoned animals.
