Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival announces Lifetime Achievement Award winners

The 63rd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, one of Turkey's most established cinematic events, has announced its Lifetime Achievement Award recipients. Veteran actors Menderes Samancılar and Tilbe Saran will be honored at the opening ceremony on October 24.

Menderes Samancılar boasts a career spanning over 50 years, beginning in 1974 and his film debut in 1975. He has appeared in over 100 films, television series, and digital platform productions. Samancılar is recognized for his powerful performances in classic films such as "Bereketli Topraklar Üzerinde," "Zıkkım'ın Kökü," "Dönersen Islık Çal," and "Babamın Kanatları." His work has earned him numerous national and international awards. He has also represented Turkish acting on the global stage, collaborating with acclaimed directors like Claude Lelouch, Bahman Ghobadi, and Mohsen Makhmalbaf. Beyond acting, Samancılar has contributed to film culture by serving as the executive board president of the Adana Golden Boll Film Festival and participating in the Şile Children Directors Film Festival.

Tilbe Saran is a multifaceted artist celebrated for her work in theater, cinema, and voice acting, as well as her role as an educator. She has performed in over thirty plays with prominent theater companies, including Kenter Tiyatrosu, Dormen Tiyatrosu, Istanbul City Theatres, and Aksanat Prodüksiyon Tiyatrosu, which she co-founded. In cinema, Saran has starred in impactful films like "Korkuyorum Anne," "Beş Vakit," "Zenne," "Çekmeceler," and "Bergen." Her performance in "Zenne" earned her the Best Supporting Actress award at the 48th Golden Orange Film Festival in 2011. Currently, she teaches at Kadir Has University's Theater Department, nurturing new talent. Saran also plays an active role in the Actors' Union, promoting professional solidarity and continuing her efforts to connect art with society.
