Antalya's Spectacular Destinations Transform It Into An All-Season Attraction

Antalya, a major Turkish tourist hub, is solidifying its status as a year-round destination, attracting a record 17.12 million visitors in 2025. This marks the second consecutive year of record-breaking numbers for the province. Among the influx, 417,000 tourists hailed from Romania, a significant market for Antalya, according to Ayhan Gök, the provincial director for Culture and Tourism. He noted that while Romanian visitor numbers saw a slight dip from the previous year's record of over 431,000, the continued strong interest signals Antalya's enduring appeal.

The province, renowned for its pristine beaches, many of which hold the international Blue Flag certification for quality and environmental standards, is actively working to broaden its appeal. Gök emphasized that Antalya offers far more than just summer holidays. The Turkish Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) is spearheading campaigns through the GoTürkiye platform and various media channels to highlight the region's rich history, archaeology, natural beauty, gastronomy, and commitment to sustainable tourism.

Beyond the well-known sandy shores, visitors can explore ancient sites like Side, Perge, Aspendos, and Phaselis, or wander through the charming Kaleiçi district. For adventure seekers, the Olympos Teleferik cable car in Kemer offers a breathtaking ascent to the summit of Mount Tahtalı, also known as the Lycian Olympus, providing panoramic views from 2,366 meters. These diverse attractions aim to transform Antalya into a multifaceted destination, enticing travelers throughout the year.

There was a limited decrease compared to 2024, but Romania remained among the main tourist-generating markets for Antalya. For us, this is an important signal. It shows that, despite some minor fluctuations, Romanian tourists continue to show strong interest in Antalya.
