Anthropic in Talks to Acquire AI Startup Decart AI for $6 Billion

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude chatbot, is reportedly in negotiations to acquire Decart AI, a startup backed by Nvidia. The potential deal, valued at around $6 billion according to Bloomberg News, signals Anthropic's aggressive expansion strategy as it prepares for a possible public listing.

The acquisition of Decart AI, which specializes in AI infrastructure, optimization technology, and proprietary AI models, could significantly bolster Anthropic's capacity to handle growing user demand. Decart's offerings include the Lucy model, capable of editing live video in real-time, and the Oasis model, designed to generate simulated environments for training robotics and autonomous driving systems.

This move aligns with Anthropic's broader efforts to scale its operations and overcome capacity constraints. The company has been actively hiring engineers with expertise in both hardware and software to co-design custom chips and AI models aimed at enhancing Claude's speed and efficiency. The acquisition, if finalized, would see Decart's team integrated into Anthropic's inference and performance division.
