Antisemitic Spanish tourist attacks Israeli reservist in Philippines

An Israeli military reservist was subjected to a physical assault and antisemitic slurs by a Spanish tourist on Siargao Island in the Philippines. The incident occurred at a café when the Spanish national, upon discovering the reservist's nationality, began shouting accusations of being a "baby killer" and engaging in "genocide," while also issuing death threats.

Video footage of the confrontation, which circulated on social media, shows the escalating verbal and physical altercation. The Israeli reservist attempted to de-escalate the situation, warning the attacker that he was being recorded and asking him to step away. Despite these efforts, the Spanish tourist initiated the physical confrontation by throwing the first punch.

During the ensuing struggle, the Israeli reservist, though physically smaller, managed to overpower and restrain the attacker. The video captured the attacker shouting demands in English, telling the reservist to "stop it." The reservist maintained control, responding by stating, “If you don't understand what I'm saying, I will kill you.”

Local police responded to the scene and took the Spanish tourist into custody.
