Antonelli Wins Belgian GP as Bottas Struggles and Hamilton Penalized

In a dramatic Belgian Grand Prix, Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli clinched his sixth victory of the Formula 1 season. Antonelli, starting from pole position, initially fell behind Charles Leclerc after pit stops but skillfully regained the lead on lap 34, ultimately pulling away for a dominant win. Max Verstappen of Red Bull finished third.

The race was marred by several incidents. George Russell of Mercedes collided with Lewis Hamilton on the opening lap, forcing Russell to retire and significantly impacting his championship standing. Hamilton received a five-second time penalty for the incident, dropping him behind Verstappen. Antonelli extended his lead in the drivers' standings, while Russell slipped to third place.

Bottas described the race as lonely and acknowledged the team's need to improve pace. Meanwhile, a rare and concerning incident occurred when Lewis Hamilton's car made contact with a Ferrari mechanic during a pit stop, though the mechanic was reported to be unharmed.
