APC, Accord Party trade blame over mayhem in Osun

The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for an investigation into violent disturbances and attacks on its members, directly accusing Governor Ademola Adeleke of complicity. The APC's Director-General, Mr. Oluwole Oke, alleged that the governor is harboring individuals responsible for security breaches and attacks on opposition members in areas like Ile-Ife and Owode-Ede. Oke specifically pointed to an appointee of the governor, Olalekan Emir, who is allegedly out on bail for murder charges and is being housed in the Government House. He also referenced the case of Hon. Remi Abass, an APC chieftain allegedly murdered in February 2025, and stated that the governor's appointee, Jide Joda, who was arraigned for the murder, has jumped bail. The APC urged Adeleke to control his supporters to prevent further insecurity. In response, the Imole Campaign Council, supporting Governor Adeleke's re-election, accused the APC of killing the governor's supporters and demanded that security agencies address the violence. The council's Media Committee Chairman, Bamidele Salam, stated that shootings in some communities were captured on video as evidence against the APC. The council also reported that APC campaign buses were attacked and vandalized in Owode-Ede by suspected PDP/Accord hoodlums, leaving supporters injured and property destroyed.
