APC chieftain backs Gombe gov candidate

Aliyu Mohammed, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, has publicly declared his support for the party's presumptive 2027 governorship candidate, Dr. Jamilu Gwamna. Mohammed, also known as Kombat and founder of the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation, announced his decision at a gathering of his supporters, where he formally dissolved his political structure into Gwamna's campaign.

After carefully assessing the political landscape and Dr. Gwamna’s agenda, I became convinced that supporting the APC candidate is the best path for the continued development of Gombe State.

Mohammed cited extensive consultations with his foundation members, political associates, and community leaders as the basis for his decision. Responding to the endorsement, Dr. Jamilu Gwamna commended Mohammed for his commitment to youth development and recognized him as a crucial mobilizer for the party. Gwamna stressed the importance of prioritizing youth, stating, "Whoever abandons the youth abandons the future of that society." He pledged that if elected governor, his administration would focus on creating employment opportunities for youths and women through job creation, entrepreneurship support, and skills acquisition programs, alongside policies aimed at stimulating economic growth.

Gwamna also appealed to party members to unite for victory across all levels of government.
