APC South-East Women Inaugurate National Committee for Mega Rally, Empowerment Programme

The All Progressives Congress (APC) South-East Women Mega Rally & Empowerment 2026 is set to convene on August 18 at Okpara Square in Enugu State, marking a significant mobilization effort for women across the region. The event's inauguration and strategic media briefing took place in Abuja, officially launching preparations for what organizers anticipate will be one of the largest gatherings of women in the South-East.

Under the theme “One Region, One Vision, Victory for Tinubu 2027,” the rally is expected to draw prominent figures, including First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, who is being honored for her commitment to women's economic empowerment. Other anticipated attendees include the Minister of Women Affairs, APC National Women Leader Dr. Mary Alile Idele, South-East governors and their wives, legislators, ministers, party leaders, traditional rulers, and representatives from various professional and civil society groups.

Enugu State will host the regional gathering, with Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah leading efforts to welcome the First Lady. The event aims to showcase the region's commitment to women's empowerment, unity, and inclusive development. It will feature large-scale empowerment initiatives, policy discussions, health outreach, and leadership development, serving as a platform to galvanize support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election campaign.

Enugu State, under the leadership of Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, will serve as the host state for the regional gathering. The Governors of the South-East, led by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma,CON, together with their First Ladies, are joining hands to welcome the First Lady in a collective demonstration of the region’s commitment to women’s empowerment, unity and inclusive development.

Dr. Oby Ajih, APC South-East Zonal Women Leader and Convener, described the initiative as a pivotal moment for women in the region. She emphasized that the rally addresses the long-standing need for visible platforms and resources for APC women in the South-East. "This Mega Rally is our answer. It is a statement that South-East women are organised, united and ready to take centre stage in shaping the political and economic future of our zone and our party," Ajih stated, highlighting the connection between empowering women and securing votes, communities, and the future.
