APC suspends Kebbi chairman, Zuru LG party chair over alleged infractions

The Kebbi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana-Zuru, and the APC Chairman of Zuru Local Government Area, Hon. Aliyu Abubakar Abiola. The party cited alleged lukewarm attitudes towards party activities, insufficient engagement with critical stakeholders, and noncompliance with established party principles and procedures as reasons for the disciplinary action.

According to a statement signed by the State Party Secretary, Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammad Kimba, the suspensions followed a thorough internal review and investigation into complaints received from stakeholders within the Zuru Emirate. The party has appointed the Deputy State Chairman to serve in an acting capacity for the state chairman position, pending further directives.

In a parallel development, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Livestock Development and Fisheries, Alhaji Kabir Usman Alaramma, has also been suspended from his position. A statement from the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, indicated that the commissioner's suspension is effective immediately and will continue until further notice. He has been directed to hand over all government property and official responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary of the ministry.
