Appeal and adjudication committees may be housed under one roof

Iceland is considering placing its appeal and adjudication committees under one roof, alongside smaller administrative committees and the Institute of Industry, which is due to begin operating on January 1, 2027.

The proposal appears in the government’s 2027 budget bill, presented in the morning. It relies on a general authorization to buy or lease office or commercial space for state institutions when reorganization or more efficient use of government operations makes that necessary.

The government is also examining other premises, including possible space for the Cultural Heritage Agency of Iceland, the Communications Authority, the Transportation Accident Investigation Board and, where appropriate, shared storage facilities for state institutions.
