Apple aids South Korean developers' global expansion with AI tools and App Store

Apple is actively fostering the growth of South Korea's developer community by offering advanced artificial intelligence (AI) development tools and utilizing its extensive App Store ecosystem. The tech giant aims to empower local developers to create innovative applications and facilitate their entry into international markets.

During a developer ecosystem briefing held at Apple Korea in Seoul, Unai Shea, Apple's Head of Developer Relations, emphasized the significance of the South Korean market. "Korea is home to one of the most creative and dynamic developer communities in the world," Shea stated. "We are proud that the App Store and Apple's tools are helping them succeed."

Apple's support includes access to its latest AI development environment, unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC24). This environment allows developers to integrate Apple's own Foundation Models alongside external models like Claude and Gemini. Additionally, it enables large language models (LLMs) to run directly on devices. Key coding tools, such as Xcode, have been updated to allow direct application of models from companies like Google and OpenAI, while the programming language SwiftUI has seen improvements in usability.
