Apple Releases iOS 27 Beta 2! Focus on Major Siri AI Upgrades, New Smart Features Enter Testing

Apple has rolled out the second beta version of iOS 27 to developers, with a strong emphasis on major advancements in Siri's artificial intelligence capabilities. Released on June 22, this update follows the initial beta introduced after WWDC 2026 and prioritizes bug fixes and system optimizations while deeply testing the new "Siri AI."

This iteration of iOS is positioned as Apple's most AI-centric operating system to date, with "Siri AI" as its centerpiece. The next-generation Siri is driven by the new Apple Intelligence and advanced foundational models, promising richer dialogue, a deeper understanding of personal context, and the ability to perceive on-screen information for sophisticated cross-application tasks. The interface integrates Siri AI with the "Dynamic Island" and introduces a standalone Siri app for recalling conversation history across devices. Additionally, camera functions are enhanced with "Visual Intelligence" for improved control.

Beyond AI enhancements, iOS 27 includes refinements to last year's Liquid Glass design, featuring a new transparency adjustment slider. The update also aims to improve application launch speeds, camera activation in low-power mode, and AirDrop transfer performance.

It is important to note that while iOS 27 is compatible with iPhone 11 and iPhone SE 2 models and later, the most advanced Siri AI features are restricted to hardware that supports Apple Intelligence. Reports suggest that some of the most critical on-device AI models will be exclusive to the latest hardware, such as the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air. Apple plans to release the first public beta in July, with the official global rollout scheduled for this fall.
