Apple Retailer Humac Enters Reconstruction

Humac, a Danish retail chain specializing in Apple products, has temporarily ceased operations and entered reconstruction. Both its 14 physical stores and online shop are currently closed, as indicated by a notice on Humac's website. The company stated it entered reconstruction on August 13, 2026, preventing new purchases. Reconstruction allows a company facing financial difficulties a period of protection from creditors to restructure its finances, potentially through new capital, debt reduction, or asset sales. Failure to achieve this can lead to bankruptcy proceedings. Founded in 1989, Humac exclusively sold Apple products and accessories. The chain was sold in 2024 to the Italian company C&C, which operates Apple stores internationally. Prior to that sale, it was co-owned by Danish footballer Joachim Andersen and his father. Humac's 2025 financial report revealed a loss of 27 million Danish kroner, marking the eighth consecutive year of negative results, with equity at a deficit of 22 million kroner.
