Applegreen to create 150 jobs in Naas with new service area

Fuel and forecourt retailer Applegreen is set to open a significant new €15 million roadside service area and electric vehicle hub in Naas, Co. Kildare, later this year. The development is expected to generate 150 new jobs in the region.

The new facility, strategically located near the Naas Ball at Junction 9 on the M7, will be a comprehensive stop for travelers. It will boast eight Applegreen Fast Charge ultra-fast EV chargers, offering a total of 16 charging points. Additionally, it will include a dedicated truck stop for heavy goods vehicle fueling and a carwash.

Food and retail offerings at the site will be diverse, featuring Popeyes and Taco Bell outlets, M&S Food, Crafted Kitchen & Deli, and an Applegreen forecourt with a convenience store. Notably, the Popeyes outlet will be the first of its kind with a drive-thru in the Republic of Ireland, with another drive-thru planned for the winter.

This expansion marks Applegreen's continued investment in its Irish business. The company recently opened a €15 million site on the M3 in Dunshaughlin and has expanded its partnership with M&S Food to 43 locations. Applegreen is currently undertaking a €1 billion global investment to enhance its operations across Ireland, the UK, and the US.
