Applications for supplementary entry exams to Onassis public schools close Tuesday

Students seeking admission to selected Onassis public schools in Greece have until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, to apply for supplementary entrance exams.

The process aims to fill vacant or soon-to-be vacant places in the second grade of lower and upper secondary schools that operated during the 2025-26 school year. It also covers first-grade places where no reserve list exists or where the list of eligible students has been exhausted.

Applications must be submitted through the government’s digital platform. Students may select up to one Onassis public school from those with available places. Students already attending another Onassis public school cannot take part.

The written exams will take place on Wednesday, September 9, at the school selected by each applicant. Students must arrive by 9 a.m., and the exams will begin at 10 a.m. Results are expected by the start of the school year.

A total of 20 schools, comprising 10 lower secondary schools and 10 general upper secondary schools, will operate in the network during the 2026-27 school year. Eight new schools in Egaleo, Rhodes, Heraklion and Pyrgos will join the 12 schools added in 2025 in Acharnes, Peristeri, Kolonos, Xirokrini in Thessaloniki, Kozani and Xanthi.
