Aqsa Working Group Denounces Harassment at Al-Aqsa Mosque, Urges Islamic World Action

The Aqsa Working Group (AWG) has issued a strong condemnation of escalating provocations and harassment targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque, attributing these actions to Israeli forces and extremist Jewish groups. The group expressed outrage over recent incidents, including the incursion of Jewish settlers into the mosque complex on April 9, 2026, and the unfurling of Israeli flags within the sacred compound under the protection of occupation forces.

AWG also denounced political maneuvers aimed at undermining the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf, the legitimate authority responsible for managing the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex. These attempts to seize control from the Waqf are seen as a direct challenge to the mosque's status and the rights of Muslims.

The organization is urging the global Islamic community to take concrete and decisive action in response to these persistent violations. AWG emphasizes that the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque is being systematically disrespected, demanding a unified and robust stance from Muslim-majority nations and organizations to protect the holy site.
