Argentina begins operation to recover bodies after helicopter crash kills seven

An operation is underway to recover the bodies of seven individuals who perished in a helicopter crash in San Juan, Argentina. The aircraft went down in the remote Ischigualasto Provincial Park, a challenging terrain that has complicated rescue efforts.

National Security Minister Alejandra Monteoliva confirmed that the recovery operation began after the helicopter's signal was lost on Wednesday. She described the area as "very complicated," noting that rescue teams must trek 15 kilometers to reach the crash site. Communication signals are also lost in some sectors, and even 4x4 vehicles cannot access the exact location, necessitating a foot journey.

The victims were reportedly participating in a training course for combating forest fires. The helicopter crashed in the Quebrada de la Chilca, approximately 8 kilometers from the Circuito Los Arrieros. Rescuers spent the night in a rudimentary shelter while awaiting the complex recovery operation.
