Argentina prioritizes 60 urgent applications for Bolivian professionals

Argentina is fast-tracking 60 urgent applications from Bolivian professionals seeking to validate their academic degrees, prioritizing these cases within a larger pool of about 450 pending requests. This accelerated process aims to assist individuals facing imminent deadlines for professional residency.

The announcement came from Foreign Minister Fernando Aramayo during a session with the Chamber of Deputies' Constitution Commission. He clarified that the 60 cases represent urgent matters, not the total number of applications being processed. These efforts stem from bilateral discussions to support Bolivians residing in Argentina who wish to practice their professions.

Since a mutual recognition agreement took effect in 2012, Argentina has approved nearly 5,000 degree validations for Bolivians. The majority of these, approximately 4,300, are for medical professionals, with the remainder from other fields of study. This highlights a significant flow of Bolivian professionals, particularly in medicine, seeking to practice in Argentina.

Aramayo also addressed a previously reported figure of nearly 5,000 processes, clarifying that this number reflects already approved validations since 2012, not pending applications. The ongoing process continues according to established procedures, with the urgent cases receiving special attention due to upcoming deadlines.

The Foreign Ministry is also preparing to fill diplomatic service vacancies through a merit-based selection process as part of a broader renewal of the ministry.
