Argentina's Economy Minister Reveals No New Farm Measures, Shares Personal Insight

Argentine Minister of Economy Luis Caputo made a significant appearance at the 138th Rural Exhibition in Palermo, spending over three hours engaging with exhibitors and producers. During his visit, Caputo shared a key political update for the agricultural sector: President Javier Milei will not unveil new measures for the countryside during the upcoming inaugural event. Caputo explained that the most crucial decisions concerning the sector have already been communicated in previous months. While initially reserved, Caputo became more open as the event progressed. He participated in awarding the Grand Champion Hereford Male prize, where he disclosed his personal involvement in cattle production. Caputo expressed his enthusiasm for the "great motivation and optimism" he observed in the field, mirroring the sentiment within the government. He emphasized the agricultural sector's historical role as the "true engine" capable of driving Argentina forward, lamenting that past policies had hindered its development over the last 25 years. Caputo affirmed that the current economic model aims to rectify this situation by supporting sectors that naturally generate dollars and employment.
