In August 2026, Argentine domestic workers, classified under the third category, will receive the same salary as in July. This holds true for caretakers as well. The sector anticipates a new collective bargaining agreement that will determine updated wages for the coming months. Consequently, the salary rates for all categories of domestic workers, with or without lodging, will be repeated for August.

For caretakers, the hourly basic wage is set at $3,996.45. Monthly, this amounts to $505,302.76. These figures reflect the current agreement, with adjustments pending the outcome of upcoming negotiations.

Formalizing employment is crucial for domestic workers. All employers are legally obligated to register their staff with the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (ARCA). This registration is mandatory irrespective of the number of hours worked or the specific employment arrangement. The process can be completed virtually through the ARCA portal.
