Argentine Footballer Amoroso Pursues Bolivian Citizenship

Argentine footballer Joel Amoroso is in the process of becoming a Bolivian citizen through naturalization, fulfilling the constitutional requirement of three years of uninterrupted residency in the country. Amoroso arrived in Bolivia in January 2021, initially joining Royal Pari before moving to The Strongest and currently playing for Always Ready.

The process involves Amoroso formally expressing his desire for Bolivian nationality, as stipulated by Article 142 of the Political Constitution of the State. Once he receives the Supreme Resolution confirming his new citizenship, he will be able to play in Bolivian football as a naturalized citizen. This will also free up a foreign player slot for his current club, Always Ready.

Following the naturalization, Amoroso must complete a further step with the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF). According to Article 43 of the 2023 Season Regulations, naturalized players must prove five years of uninterrupted residency in Bolivia through migration documents and a naturalization certificate issued by the competent authority. The FBF's Legal Department will then review the documentation before formally enabling the player in their system.

In parallel, Always Ready is preparing for their upcoming match against Real Potosí on Sunday in El Alto. The team currently leads the league with 33 points, maintaining a significant advantage over their closest rivals, Bolívar and The Strongest, who both have 27 points.
