Argentines Report High Sexual Desire but Limited Activity; Middle Age is the 'Golden Age' for Sex

Argentines perceive themselves as more sexually active than their daily schedules allow, according to a recent survey. The 'hot index' reveals that only 4 out of 10 individuals had sexual relations in the past month, with 19% reporting no sex in the last three months. Despite this, a notable 9.3% confessed to having sex four or more times per week, and over half consider their performance in bed to be very good, rating their average sexual performance at 7.31 out of 10.

This disparity highlights a common theme: a strong libido often exists alongside a less active sex life. More than half of Argentines fantasize about a more frequent sex life than their reality permits, with 14.8% wishing for sex multiple times a day and another 14.8% desiring it daily. A significant portion, 12.6%, aspires to four or more times weekly, while 18.8% would be content with two or three times per week.

Sociologist Natasha Steinberg explains this gap by pointing to competing priorities: "Time, work demands, emotional stability, the economy, and fatigue now directly compete with the space for intimacy." She notes that desire often persists as an ideal even when material conditions are unfavorable, creating a form of "erotic self-demand" that coexists with packed schedules and relationships marked by uncertainty.

Interestingly, the study challenges the common perception of youth as the peak of sexual activity. It identifies middle age, specifically between 45 and 55 years old, as the "golden age" for sex. Dr. Diego Bernardini, a regional expert in New Longevity, confirms this trend, observing that the second half of life often brings a richer, more interesting, and varied experience in terms of desire and sexuality, as individuals gain a clearer understanding of their preferences.
