Argeș Schools Face Leadership Gap as Dozens of Director Applications Rejected

The process of appointing new school directors in Romania's Argeș County has hit a snag, with a significant number of candidates facing rejection. Out of 224 applications submitted for vacant director and deputy director positions, 65 were deemed non-compliant and rejected. This leaves many schools potentially without permanent leadership as the new academic year approaches.

According to Simona Teodorescu, the school inspector for institutional management, the rejections stem from candidates failing to meet mandatory requirements outlined in the operational procedure. These included issues with signed application forms, CVs, medical certificates using outdated templates, and existing sanctions that disqualify candidates.

Teodorescu emphasized that the procedure does not allow for candidates to supplement their applications after submission. Despite the high number of rejections, the Argeș County School Inspectorate plans to hold another selection phase before the school year begins to fill the remaining vacant posts. Some candidates with accepted applications will proceed to an interview stage due to competition for their desired positions.
