Ariana Grande to Withdraw From Public Life After Tour Amid Intense Scrutiny

Pop superstar Ariana Grande intends to step away from the public eye following the conclusion of her current "Eternal Sunshine" tour. Her spokesperson confirmed to People magazine that Grande is looking forward to finishing the tour "both healthy and happy," after which she will take a "well-deserved break from public-facing work and performances that have led to endless, ongoing public observation."

The decision to take a hiatus appears to have influenced her professional commitments, as Grande has also withdrawn from a planned West End debut in Stephen Sondheim's musical "Sunday in The Park with George." This project would have marked her London stage debut alongside "Wicked" film co-star Jonathan Bailey in the summer of 2027. Producers confirmed her withdrawal, stating they have "full understanding and support" for her decision, acknowledging it could not have been easy.

Grande, 33, has been in the public spotlight since her teenage years. Recent discussions surrounding her well-being and appearance, particularly her noticeable weight loss, have intensified following the release of her eighth studio album, "petals," and accompanying concert footage. In April 2023, Grande addressed such speculation in a video, urging greater discretion regarding people's bodies, stating, "I find that we should be more reserved and less casual about commenting on other people's bodies, no matter what someone is going through."

The "Eternal Sunshine" tour, which began in July, is nearing its end with the final US concerts scheduled for this week in Chicago. Ten performances remain in London, with the last concert set for September 1. The timing of her subsequent break was apparently not part of the original tour planning.
