Aris BC finalizes coaching and medical staff under Vassilis Spanoulis

Aris Thessaloniki BC has finalized its coaching and medical staff, confirming the team that will work alongside newly appointed head coach Vassilis Spanoulis. The club announced that Ilias Kantzouris, Kostas Charalampidis, and Kostas Iliadis will serve as assistant coaches, while Toliss Karatzas joins as a physiotherapist.

Ilias Kantzouris brings a wealth of experience, having served as an assistant coach in Greece and Europe from 2000 to 2019, including stints with Zalgiris Kaunas and Unics Kazan. He was part of the Aris Betsson coaching staff during the 2005-06 season and the Greek national team in 2013. Kantzouris transitioned to head coach roles in 2020, leading teams like Iraklis, Kolossos Rodou, and AEK. Most recently, he coached Limoges and Hapoel Jerusalem before joining Spanoulis in Monaco from 2024 to 2026. He has also been part of the Greek men's national team coaching staff since 2023.

Kostas Charalampidis, a former player for Aris Betsson in the 2010-11 season, began his coaching career as an assistant at PAOK in 2016. He took over as head coach mid-season in 2019-20. Charalampidis was part of Panathinaikos' coaching staff from 2022 to 2022 and then worked with Spanoulis in Peristeri from 2022 to 2024. He followed Spanoulis to Monaco for the last two years.

Kostas Iliadis, born in 1993, has experience as an assistant coach and head coach for various Greek teams, including AOK Verias and AGSI Ioanninon. He also worked as a scout for Charilaos Trikoupis. Iliadis served as an assistant coach for Spanoulis in Peristeri during the 2023-24 season, later joining Iraklis where they achieved promotion to the Stoiximan GBL. He returned to Spanoulis' staff in Peristeri last year and has been part of the Greek men's national team technical staff since 2025.

Physiotherapist Toliss Karatzas also brings experience from his time with Olympiacos and has previously worked with Spanoulis at both Peristeri and Monaco. He is also a member of the Greek men's national team's medical staff.
