Aris Betsson Announces Signing of E.J. Liddell on Two-Year Deal

Aris Betsson has secured a significant summer acquisition by signing American forward E.J. Liddell to a two-year deal, bolstering their frontcourt with a player who has NBA experience. The 25-year-old joins the Thessaloniki-based club after stints with several NBA franchises.

Liddell, standing at 1.98 meters, was born on December 18, 2000, and plays power forward. He began his college career at Ohio State University, where he delivered impressive performances, averaging 16.2 points and 6.7 rebounds in his sophomore year, and 19.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 blocks in his junior year. These stats earned him a spot on the First Team All-Big Ten.

His collegiate success led him to declare for the 2022 NBA draft, where he was selected 41st overall by the New Orleans Pelicans. However, a torn Achilles tendon during Summer League sidelined him for his rookie season. He later signed a multi-year contract with the Pelicans and was part of a trade package to the Atlanta Hawks for Dejounte Murray. He also had brief spells with the Chicago Bulls and Brooklyn Nets, where he averaged 5.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in his final season.
