Aris in advanced talks for Portuguese goalkeeper Velho, interest dates back to June

Greek football club Aris is nearing a deal to sign Portuguese goalkeeper Ricardo Velho from Farense. The club has reportedly been in contact with Velho and his current team since early June, evaluating him as a potential reinforcement for the goalkeeper position.

Initially, Aris considered Velho as a possible replacement for Giorgos Athanasiadis, who was expected to leave the team. During that period, the club also looked into other options, such as signing Anthony Lopes, who ultimately joined Lyon.

However, the pursuit of a new goalkeeper was temporarily sidelined as other transfer priorities emerged. The need for an additional goalkeeper remained, and with the transfer window approaching its deadline, Aris has intensified its efforts to secure Velho.

The club is now in the final stages of negotiations and hopes to complete the transfer, bringing the Portuguese goalkeeper to Thessaloniki.
