Armed brawl at Diyarbakır restaurant leaves 2 dead, several injured

A violent confrontation erupted at a restaurant in Diyarbakır's Sur district on Tuesday evening, leaving two people dead and six others injured. The incident occurred on the Old Mardin Road in the Yeşil Vadi Evleri area.

Eyewitness accounts suggest the brawl began when two groups of patrons engaged in a dispute over an unspecified issue. The argument rapidly escalated, culminating in the exchange of gunfire. Ahmed Çiçek and Şeyhmus Bayram were fatally wounded by bullets fired during the altercation.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene following reports of the violence. Medical teams provided initial treatment to the wounded before transporting them to nearby hospitals. The deceased were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsies.

Law enforcement officers secured the premises, recovering one firearm and a significant quantity of ammunition. As part of the ongoing investigation, police have detained five individuals: M.Ö. (65), R.Ö. (35), H.Ç. (40), Ö.B. (37), and K.Ç. (14). Efforts are underway to locate and arrest other individuals believed to be involved in the incident.
