Armed Clash in Izmir Leaves Several Injured, Arrests Made

A violent clash erupted in Izmir's Alaybey neighborhood, leaving multiple individuals injured and several others arrested. The incident, which began around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Mehmet İhsan Zeyrek Street and 1690 Street, involved two groups engaged in a dispute that quickly escalated to gunfire.

Responding to emergency calls from startled residents who heard the shots, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Five people sustained injuries: A.T., 52, was shot in the jaw; R.T., 58, was wounded in the left knee; L.M., 49, suffered a gunshot wound to the right shoulder; M.Y., 81, was injured in the right ankle; and İ.K., 38, also sustained an ankle injury. All were transported to nearby hospitals by ambulance.

During their investigation at the scene, police collected 14 shell casings and one live bullet. They also discovered that a parked vehicle had been hit by multiple rounds. Authorities have apprehended S.Ö., 41, and an unidentified suspect believed to be involved in the altercation. İ.K., who had received medical treatment, was also taken into custody. The suspects were transported to the police station, and a comprehensive investigation into the incident is underway.
