Armed Suspects Steal Ride-Share Car, Crash During Police Chase in Chile

A ride-sharing driver in Cerro Navia, Chile, became the victim of a brazen armed robbery when a group of individuals posing as passengers stole his vehicle. The incident unfolded when the driver arrived to pick up a fare, only to be confronted by armed assailants who intimidated him into abandoning his car.

Following the driver's report to the police, Carabineros initiated an operation to recover the stolen vehicle. During a controlled pursuit, officers located the car with three occupants inside. The chase concluded abruptly when the suspects lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a tree, also within Cerro Navia.

Authorities successfully apprehended two of the three individuals involved in the incident. One suspect was found trapped inside the crashed vehicle, while the other was captured after attempting to flee on foot. A third accomplice managed to escape and is currently the subject of an intensive manhunt by Carabineros.

During the arrest, one of the detained suspects was found in possession of illegal ammunition, described as a munition of war. The investigation is ongoing as police continue their efforts to locate the third suspect and gather further evidence related to the robbery and subsequent crash.
