Liverpool FC has parted ways with head coach Arne Slot, citing the team's failure to secure any trophies during the 2025/2026 season. The decision was made by the club's owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), following a disappointing campaign that saw the Reds finish fifth in the Premier League with only 60 points, their lowest tally in ten years.

Slot's tenure, which began in the summer of 2024 as the successor to Jurgen Klopp, lasted only two seasons. While he successfully guided Liverpool to a Premier League title in his inaugural 2024/2025 season, the subsequent season proved challenging. The team struggled to perform, suffering 19 defeats across all competitions, including 12 in the Premier League.

Despite significant investment in new players at the start of the 2025/2026 season, including Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike, and Milos Kerkez, Slot could not elevate the team's performance. Liverpool's campaigns in the Champions League, EFL Cup, and FA Cup also fell short of expectations.
