Arokodare scores twice on Ajax debut to seal Conference League spot

Tolu Arokodare made an immediate impact in his first start for Ajax, scoring a brace to help the Dutch club secure a spot in the UEFA Conference League league phase. Arokodare, who had previously hit the woodwork, opened his scoring account in first-half stoppage time, firing home from a difficult angle to restore Ajax's lead. The 25-year-old was substituted shortly after the hour mark to a standing ovation, having already made his mark on the match.

His performance adds to an impressive start since joining Ajax, with the striker now boasting three goals and two assists in five appearances across all competitions. The goals were part of a dominant display from Ajax, who opened the scoring within the first minute through Youri Baas. Despite Sion briefly taking the lead through Winsley Boteli, Ajax consistently responded, with Davy Klaassen also finding the net before Arokodare's decisive contributions.
