Nigerian stars Osimhen, Lookman, Onyedika set for Champions League clashes

The upcoming 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase will feature several high-profile matchups between Nigerian football stars, with Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Raphael Onyedika set to face each other. Their respective clubs, Galatasaray, Atletico Madrid, and Stuttgart, were drawn into the same group, guaranteeing direct confrontations.

Osimhen, playing for Galatasaray, faces a demanding campaign that includes fixtures against Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, clubs he has been linked with in the past. He will also return to France to play his former club, Lille. Ademola Lookman's Atletico Madrid, seeded in Pot 1, will host strong opponents like Bayern Munich and Manchester United, while Raphael Onyedika's Stuttgart will also be involved in tough ties.

Beyond their direct clashes, these Nigerian internationals will compete against some of Europe's elite. Four Nigerian players in total are participating in this season's competition, with Zaidu Sanusi of FC Porto also involved, though his team was not drawn against any of the other Nigerian stars.
