"Arrest Me": Video Shows Sonam Wangchuk's Heated Argument At Safdarjung, Hospital Responds

Social activist Sonam Wangchuk recounted a contentious experience at Safdarjung Hospital, culminating in a plea for authorities to "Arrest Me." Wangchuk, known for his environmental activism and role as the inspiration for a character in the film "3 Idiots," alleged that he was detained at the hospital for several hours.

According to Wangchuk, the delay occurred despite a Delhi High Court order that had permitted him to transfer to Medanta Hospital. He claimed that hospital staff prevented his departure, leading to a prolonged and frustrating situation. The activist’s public account, shared via video, highlighted his distress and called for immediate action.

Safdarjung Hospital has since issued a response to Wangchuk's allegations. While the hospital acknowledged the situation, its statement provided a different perspective on the events. The hospital's response aimed to clarify the circumstances surrounding Wangchuk's prolonged stay and departure, addressing the activist's claims of being unlawfully detained.
