Arrests for Laser and Drugs at OAKA Arena

Authorities arrested three individuals at the OAKA indoor arena in Marousi on Tuesday evening, June 10, 2026, during a basketball match. The arrests were made as part of intensified checks aimed at ensuring the smooth running of the game and preventing sports-related violence.

The Hellenic Police reported that a 20-year-old man was apprehended for using a laser device directed at the playing field. This action is a violation of regulations designed to maintain fair play and player safety during sporting events.

Additionally, during body searches conducted outside the arena before the match, police detained a 23-year-old and a 35-year-old man. They were found to be in possession of small amounts of narcotics. The police have compiled case files against the three individuals for offenses related to drug laws and weapons legislation, as applicable.
