Arya Nishaant wants the world to see Nepal’s sociable spirit

Arya Nishaant, representing Madhesh Province, has been crowned Miss Nepal International 2026, marking a significant achievement for the region and the country. This victory follows Nikita Chandak's win in a previous year, highlighting a growing presence for Madhesh Province in national beauty pageants.

After the crown came onto my head, for a moment I felt like I was in a dream. I felt a big responsibility had been added. I will be known as Nepal on the international stage. There’s pride in that, and it’s also a bigger responsibility.

Nishaant, a fashion model and education activist, is set to represent Nepal at the prestigious Miss International pageant in Japan on November 25. She expressed that winning the crown brought a profound sense of responsibility, stating, "After the crown came onto my head, for a moment I felt like I was in a dream. I felt a big responsibility had been added. I will be known as Nepal on the international stage. There’s pride in that, and it’s also a bigger responsibility."

She shared her approach to the competition, emphasizing personal bests over comparisons and outcomes. "I went in telling myself I’d give my best without comparing myself to others and without expecting anything. It’s a matter of fortune. I didn’t focus on the result; even if I hadn’t won, I wouldn’t have gone home sad. I’m happy that I won," she said. Nishaant believes the Miss Nepal title will amplify her voice and platform, allowing her to advocate for causes she cares about while upholding the nation's image.

She aims to embody these values, showcasing the warmth and hospitality of the Nepali people. Nishaant also drew inspiration from past Miss Nepal titleholders, recognizing the pageant as a significant platform for personal growth and national representation.
