Asian Business Golf Championship Begins with Strong Start, InfraSel Wins Gross Title

The first edition of the Asian Business Golf Championship (ABGC) 2026 kicked off with a vibrant opening round at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club. The event brought together 90 corporate golfers and businessmen, establishing itself as an exclusive platform for strategic networking.

More than just a sporting competition, the ABGC serves as a meeting ground for industry leaders and decision-makers. It aims to strengthen business ties, foster idea exchange, and facilitate the formation of new collaborations within a prestigious golf course environment. The championship is held under the patronage of the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, elevating it to a regional stage that merges sports, corporate networking, and industry diplomacy.

In the first qualifying round, the InfraSel team emerged as the gross champion, demonstrating consistent play with a score of 70 strokes in the best-ball format. The duo of Megat Shariffudin and Khairul Sarbany showcased strong strategy and execution to secure their victory among high-profile corporate players. All participants are vying for a spot in the national final, scheduled for October at The Els Club Teluk Datai in Langkawi.

The nett title was claimed by the pair Nor Azhar Mohamad Noor and Mohd. Izzad Ibrahim from N.A Sales & Services, who benefited from handicap advantages to achieve their best result despite not topping the gross category. The championship features seven qualifying rounds across Peninsular Malaysia, with the next round set for June 25 at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club. The ABGC is organized by Elora Global Sdn. Bhd. with support from numerous corporate sponsors.
