Aspiring Paskibraka Cadets Undergo New Character and Leadership Training

Indonesia is preparing its next generation of flag-raisers with a revamped training program for the 2026 Paskibraka (National Flag Hoisting Troop). The Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) is centralizing the training for 76 selected candidates, representing all 38 provinces, at the Center for Human Resource Development of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in Depok.

This program goes beyond preparing the youth for the 81st Indonesian Independence Day ceremony. It aims to instill strong character and leadership skills grounded in the values of Pancasila, Indonesia's state ideology. BPIP Head Yudian Wahyudi stressed that Pancasila should be actively practiced, not just known. "Pancasila must be reflected in the attitudes, behaviors, and decisions you make every day. That is the true meaning of being Paskibraka – to be a role model in practicing Pancasila," he stated during the program's opening.

The training employs a three-pronged approach: learning, training, and mentoring. Participants will gain insights into Pancasila, national perspective, critical thinking, and discipline. Educational excursions to the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) are included to provide experiential learning.

A unique aspect of this year's program is the 'Desa Bahagia' (Happy Village) concept for dormitory living. This initiative aims to foster interaction among participants from diverse regions, promoting cross-cultural understanding and strengthening the spirit of nationalism. After their service on August 17, 2026, the candidates will undergo further development before being officially recognized as Purnapaskibraka Duta Pancasila (Alumni Paskibraka Pancasila Ambassadors).
