Astra Foundation Completes Renovations for 16 Schools in Rote Ndao; SDN Oefoe Achieves Accreditation A

The Astra Foundation has finalized renovations for 16 schools in Rote Ndao, Nusa Tenggara Timur, culminating with the inauguration of new facilities at UPTD SDN Oefoe. These upgrades, including additional classrooms and support facilities, aim to accommodate more students and enhance the quality of education.

Gunawan Salim, Chairman of the Astra Foundation - YPA MDR, stated that the new facilities are part of the foundation's commitment to providing a safe, comfortable, and conducive learning environment. "We want to ensure all teachers and students have the best facilities that can optimally support the learning process, inclusively and sustainably," Salim said during the inauguration.

UPTD SDN Oefoe is the last of the 16 schools to be renovated. The school now boasts improved infrastructure, including new classrooms, an office, a library, a reading area, a sports field, and better sanitation. These physical improvements are complemented by the foundation's "four pillars" development program, focusing on character, academics, life skills, and arts and culture since 2022.

The program has yielded significant results. UPTD SDN Oefoe received its first Accreditation A in May 2026. Students have also developed life skills like traditional weaving and hydroponics, while the school's music and dance groups have achieved national recognition, with the dance team reaching the top 15 in a national competition.
