Asunción Racetrack to Host Multiple Classic Races This Sunday

This Sunday, the Asunción racetrack will be the venue for a series of prestigious races, including the highly anticipated Polla de Potrillos and Potrancas classics. The event, scheduled as Meeting No. 20 of the Jockey Club of Paraguay, promises a full day of equestrian competition starting at 3:00 PM.

Beyond the Polla classics, the race card features the "Policía Nacional" and "Independencia de la República Oriental del Uruguay" stakes races. Both will be contested over a distance of 1,300 meters, offering exciting challenges for the participating thoroughbreds.

Adding to the day's attractions, two additional category races will be held, alongside two U.S. simulcasting races to round out the program. The "Polla de Potrillos," a 1,600-meter classic for 3-year-old thoroughbreds, is a significant event as it generally marks the first step in the Triple Crown series for colts.

Olympic Talent, representing the J.C. stud and trained by César "Rey" Paredes, is set to compete in the "Polla de Potrillos" classic. This race over the mile distance is a key indicator for the horses' potential in longer races that follow in the Triple Crown series.
