Valdimar Guðmundsson is looking for a stylist before his major concert at Harpa’s Eldborg hall on September 12. “At the very least, I’ll look really smart and cute and freshly groomed,” he says.

Guðmundsson and Icelandic band LÓN have released a new cover of “Ég lifi í draumi,” the song that Eyjólfur Kristjánsson, widely known as Eyfi, made famous. The song will also feature in their concert performance, where Guðmundsson and Kristjánsson plan to sing it together.

“I’ve sung this song on all kinds of occasions, including on television with Lay Low and at Eyfi’s anniversary concert at Háskólabíó a few years ago,” Guðmundsson says. He describes the song as a personal favorite and says LÓN chose to record its own version because Kristjánsson will join him onstage.

The performance will also pay tribute to Björgvin Halldórsson, who previously sang the song in a version Guðmundsson says “will of course never be topped.” Guðmundsson and Kristjánsson first met at Innipúkinn in 2011, when Kristjánsson performed with the band Valdimar. “Ég lifi í draumi” has music and lyrics by Kristjánsson and Aðalsteinn Ásberg Sigurðsson.
